"The Marvelous Land of Oz " is the second book in Baum 's Oz series , published in 1904. It follows the adventures of Tip, a young boy who lives with the wicked witch Mombi in the magical land of Oz. The story begins with Tip and his creation , Jack Pumpkinhead , embarking on a journey through Oz to escape Mombi 's tyranny and seek help from Glinda the Good Witch.
